We have looked around and found some of the best tours in the area, so whether you live or you are staying near Bourton on the Water and you are looking for an educational day out with a few tasty tipples, then these tours may be for you!

 

Cotswold Gin Distillery – as well as a gorgeous shop on the Bourton on the water high street, you can also pre-book a tour of the Distillery in Stourton. You begin your tour with a video that shows you the story of the Cotswold Distillery and their traditional production methods. You will then be taken around the distillery and cask warehouse and the guide will tell you how they craft their award winning spirits. You will be able to see and smell the processes in action! At the end of the tour, you’ll get to sample their range of spirits and liqueurs.

Dunkertons Cider – Learn about the history of Dunkertons and how they craft their organic Cider on their guided tours and tastings! See where they press, ferment, hand blend and bottle their award winning cider before finishing your tour with a cheese and cider tasting. Enjoy samples of organic cheese, artisan chutneys, and freshly baked organic bread, as you discover how Dunkerton cider pairs perfectly with different flavours.

Hook Norton Brewery – You will have a personal tour guide who will take you around the 5-storey Victorian Tower Brewery, you will experience the sights, sounds and smells of the brewing at Hook Norton Brewery. The tour will end with a tutored tasting in the cellar bar.

Hook Norton also has a museum on site (as well as a shop and cafe!) It is located in the original Malt House Buildings and has some of the equipment used in the brewery over the many years at Hook Norton, there are also many records and photographs from the era.

Cotswold Brew Co – Located just outside the village of Bourton on the Water, the Cotswold Brew Co Lager takes six weeks to brew from start to finish, to make sure your favourite drink tastes great. The expert tour guides will teach you about the history of Cotswold Brew Co, how the lager is brewed and show you around the brewhouse… All topped off with generous sampling!

Donnington Brewing Co – over two hours the tour showcases Donningtons latest beers and will fill you with information, education, fun and beer! After the tour, you will receive a free Battledown branded glass and have a selection of cheeses, bread and pies. You can also buy beers at the Brewery Shop at a discounted price!

Woodchester Valley Vineyard – located near Stroud, you can learn about the world of English Wine. The tours are friendly and informative and will introduce you to the world of wine-making, most importantly, you’ll get to try a range of multi-award winning wines!
